Kenneth Kozel joined UM Shore Regional Health in October 2011 as president and CEO. Kozel is a proven leader with an extensive background in building and managing collaborative teams, overseeing multiple clinical and non-clinical divisions and departments, and achieving strategic objectives. He brings extensive expertise in strategic, operational, fiscal and programmatic planning to support the mission and vision of UM SRH.

Prior to assuming the leadership of UM SRH, Kozel served Upper Chesapeake Health as president overseeing Harford Memorial Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He took on that role after 14 years at Upper Chesapeake Health, where he held numerous senior management positions including president of UCH Hospitals and COO UCH System, executive vice president, senior vice president and chief operating officer. Earlier in his career Kozel held several positions at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Kozel completed his BS at the University of Maryland and his MS/MBA from the Johns Hopkins University. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and serves as a board member of the Maryland Association of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Maryland Hospital Association's Council on Clinical Quality Issues.
