Pain Management Center

Shore Regional Health’s Pain Management Center, located in UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, offers a unique, effective and state-of-the-art approach to pain management. Accepting patients referred by primary care physicians, orthopedists, neurosurgeons, and other medical specialists, the Pain Management Center takes a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic pain, combining the best of traditional medical care with alternative medical options.

The mission of the Pain Management Center is to create a personalized plan for each pain patient in order to best improve his or her quality of life. Patients have access to physicians specializing in pain management, to a team of dedicated nurses, and to physical therapists. Shore Comprehensive Pain Care Center physicians act as primary care physicians for pain management and coordinate the various aspects of a pain care plan.

Each patient’s care begins with a personalized physical and medical consultation. This diagnostic session includes a review of his or her work history; recent and past injuries; past surgeries and treatments; and medication history. From this individual profile, the physicians develop a specific and targeted treatment plan using the latest equipment and techniques, including physical therapy, medications that address the multiple facets of chronic pain, and minimally invasive outpatient procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and peripheral nerve blocks. Image-guided interventional procedures include epidural steroid injections, facet injections, spinal cord stimulation and radio-frequency ablation.

When appropriate, patients also are referred to the Shore Regional Health’s Center for Integrative Medicine, for alternative, complementary treatments such as massage therapy, Reiki, and acupuncture.
